Pengerang is an area at the southeastern tip of Johor, to the south of Desaru. The name is usually used to cover the dock and immigration post at Tanjung Pengelih, the village of Kampong Pengelih as well as the nearby town of Sungai Rengit.
Desaru was much hyped in the 80s with quite a few mega projects aimed at attracting foreign investment and visitors, which have since been abandoned. Today, it’s strictly a local affair with the occasional Singaporeans thrown in: there are no chic boutiques, fancy restaurants or hip nightlife spots, just 22 kilometres of beach and a few aging resorts.
After a period of neglect, recently Desaru has become popular with tourists wishing to see a true Malay resort without for-tourists frills, and pundits have been predicting a renaissance since the much-delayed expressway from Johor Bahru opened in 2011.
ITINERARY
By 6.30am, we will assemble at Textile Centre #01-09 and travel via Causeway Link. We will wait for all the customers until 8.00am, we stopped by at JB Coffee shop for breakfast. Please noted that breakfast is with own expenses.
Then, we will pay a visit to Cocoa Outlet(可可巧克力销售店) to discover tasty chocolate and you may purchase a few as souvenir as well.
Our next destination would be Desaru Fruits Farm(迪沙鲁果园). It is the 180 acres Tropical Fruitland, Desaru Fruit Farm is awarded the “Best Agro- Tourism site” in Malaysia 2006 and Innovative Tourism Attraction – Agro Tourism Conservation by Malaysia Tourism Awards 2010. You may visit the Herbal & Vegetable Garden, & sit- in through an Educational Bee Keeping Management talk. See the bee at work & tasting of raw honey in our farm. Grab some Local Products or Fresh Fruits at the Mini Mart in the Fruit Farm.
During lunch time 1.00pm, we will head to the cuisine for Baby Lobster Seafood(小龙虾海鲜午餐) as our lunch of the day.
Pengerang Town(四湾岛小镇) – you can buy freshly baked Chinese confectionery handmade biscuits such as Tau Sar Piah(豆沙饼), Xiang Bing(香饼) and many more.
Should we have more activities? Yes! We will visit Ostrich Farm(鸵鸟园) after Pengerang Town. Desaru Ostrich Farm has more than 100 of ostriches. In the farm, visitors have the opportunity to get close and personal with the ostriches. This is indeed one interesting activity. A caretaker of the ostriches will be your personal tour guide, touring and guiding you throughout the farm. Interesting facts of those ostriches will be told and explained by the caretaker.
Shopping time at 4.30pm! We will drop by at Jusco Shopping Mall(佳士客购物中心) for customers to shop.
By 6.00pm, we will stop by at a Chinese restaurant for abundant dinner before we head back to Singapore.
After finished the luxurious dinner, we then head back to Singapore by 7.00pm. We hope you all enjoy the trip.
